Ray Brown is the band's co-director. His interest in music began with voice and instrument lessons in the early elementary grades where he grew up in Westfield, Massachusetts. Focusing on a passion for music during high school earned him two trips to state music festivals and a music scholarship to Westfield State College. Changing majors and schools, he earned a bachelor’s degree in Management and Finance from the University of Massachusetts, and worked in that field since. Ray’s been with the Brattleboro Legion Band for a decade, and has recently renewed his music studies with an eye towards a Master’s Degree in Music Education.
